FAQ'S

1. What is a bail bond?

A bail bond is a contract between the court, the bail agent, and the defendant’s indemitor, who is someone signing the contract for the release of the defendant. The bail bond guarantess the court that the defendant will attend each and every court appearance required. The indemitor must also guarantee to the bail agent that the defendant will appear at every court appearance as required. If the defendant fails to appear in court when requested, the bail bond company must then return the defendant to court.

2. How long does the booking process take and what happens during it?

Unfortunately, the booking process is generally a long, arduous process. Usually, at the beginning of the booking process the jail runs the arrested person’s name and social security number to check for outstanding warrants in other cities and states. The jail then obtains the arrestee’s finger prints and sends them out (along with pictures, booking number and the charge offense) for comparison and identity verification of the individual. The bail bond amount is determined by a Bail Schedule set for each offense.

3. What is the cost for a bail bond?

The cost for a bail bond is 10% of the offense charge. One may either pay with cash, check, or credit card. At Bounce Bail Bonds, we work with our customers to create an efficient and reasonable plan to pay for the bond.

4. Is the bail bond fee refundable?

The bail bond fee is fully paid immediately upon the filing of the bail bond and the release of the defendant. Therefore, the premium is not refundable.

5. What are the options for collateral?

There are different options for collateral. One can use real or personal property to secure the bond. One can sign on their house or rental property. One may also use personal property such as credit cards, motorcycles and vehicles.

6. When is the collateral returned?

Bounce Bail Bonds will return the collateral when we receive bail bond exoneration or a bail bond discharge from the court. Basically, Bounce Bail Bonds will return the collateral when we receive a document that officially releases the bail bond agent from further responsibility on the bond.

7. How long will it take the arrestee to be released from jail?

This typically depends on what jail the defendant is being held at and if the booking process is complete. Frequently, jurisdictions in city jails take about an hour or so, while jurisdictions in county jails are usually 4-8 hours. Also, jurisdiction in Federal Facilities can range from 2-3 hours. On rare occasion, due to unforeseen circumstances, some jurisdictions can take from 12-24 hours to be released.
